Planted helpless at your side
Sucked and released by the earth
You have left behind for me to tend.
A bindii integument threatens,
I pull it out—reckless with its spines.
Spiders erupt, unsettled,
Scuttling, angry earth.
Your golden hair has turned green.
I trim it, reminiscent.
Has time returned it
For your sacrifice?
I bend close to kiss your forehead.
A spider, rigid, ready
To meet it with The Bite
Defends you from my affection
Upon the crest of your distance.
